Ed Byrne Trombonist, composer/arranger Ed Byrne, from Philadelphia, USA, has worked with many of the world's finest performing artists, including: Chet Baker, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Tom Harrell, Maynard Ferguson, Billy Eckstine, Charles Mingus, Gerry Mulligan, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Archie Shepp, Buddy Rich, Mel Torme, James Brown--and countless others. During his sixteen years on the New York City music scene, Ed also performed and composed/arranged numerous recordings. A Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory, Ed is the recipient of many honors: he was nominated "Best Trombone Soloist" by Latin New York magazine; his composition "Fenway Funk" was nominated for a Grammy Award; Eddie Palmieri's Unfinished Masterpiece, on which Ed played lead trombone, won a Grammy. His new CD, Two Shades of Blue, is sold by North Country Distributors. |
Jonny Johansson 9-string guitarist, composer/arranger Jonny Johansson, a native of Sweden, is currently busy as a freelance and session musician in New York City. Jonny has performed with artists such as: Mark Murphy, Ron McClure, Jeff Hirschfield, George Garzone, Jack Wilkins, Nancy Marano and Carla White to name a few. Jonny holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Previous performances includes: Birmingham Jazz Festival, UK, Zagreb Jazz Fair, Kroatia, Gävle International Guitar Festival, Sweden. He has performed at NYC jazz clubs: Birdland, Cleopatras Needle, and Cornelia Street Cafe'. Jonny was Swedish representative to the European Broadcast Union's yearly concert in Strassbourg, France, 1991. Jonny has three CDs: Being Healthy, Swedish Woodwind and Boston Tea Party sold by North Country Distributors. |
